“Purchased the first ever Jodrell Grandfather Nixie clock from Dan about 5 months back now.
Product - Stands perfectly in relation to other award winning modern furniture that surrounds the Jodrell. The Nixie dials are beautiful and never skip a second.
It’s when the lights go down and darkness sets in the Jodrell breathes it’s second phase, illuminated with oranges, blues and a dash of green the dish sets alight.
Service - Dan’s service was five star, communication was as friendly as could be and he really understood what was trying to be achieved with purchasing the piece. Dan went to the trouble of designing an additional base, taking the whole clock apart and cleaning everything prior to installation.
I will one day pass this down, very glad I made the step and made this purchase.”

“A hand made lamp engineered like no other. I have bought few pieces from Dan, balance lamps (which are superb) and the beautiful Clamshell Alchemist. Pictures really don’t do this lamp justice, as a mechanical engineer myself I always admire handmade mechanical designs, but to bring such a design to a lamp, make it functional and looking like a piece of art takes some skill. It is bit difficult to describe it in words really, you just have to see it sitting at your desk. You will be amazed. The service from BLOTT WORKS was exceptional, shipping was extremely fast and even got a very nice box that the Lamp was packed in.”

“During the latter part of last year I had the pleasure of dealing with Dan at BLOTT WORKS by phone, email and in person while he was building a Jodrell nixie clock and a Clamshell Alchemist lamp for me.
The whole experience from beginning to end was an absolute pleasure. Dan is so enthusiastic about his creations and happy to answer questions and discuss detail which makes the whole process so exciting.
Despite excellent photos, constant email updates and even ‘build along videos’ actually seeing the end product in person is a completely different experience. You can really feel the presence of the piece and the see the tiny details which make up the ‘feel’ of the whole thing.
The clock has an amazing bringing together of 1950’s nixie tubes and 2020 technology encapsulated in Dan’s unique design, oh and it tells the time. As for the Clamshell Alchemist lamp, it’s just magical, you will have to buy one and see!
Sometimes when you buy a relatively expensive item after a few weeks ‘buyer remorse’ sets in but I can honestly say that I love my clock and lamp and appreciate them a little more each day, constantly seeing more interest and intrigue in them. The only downside is you do tend to spend a lot of time just staring at them.
I can really recommend Dan and his creations and if you like what you see go ahead and buy it, you won’t regret it.”

“We have been a customer of Dan Morrison for about three years. We first met Dan at the Cheltenham Celebration of Craftsmanship and Design when we fell in love with (and purchased) his Baby Bustard table/reading lamp. Dan seemed so enthusiastic and talented.
We then commissioned a duck standard reading lamp. Dealing with Dan was a delight and the lamp is amazing. Then we commissioned the first Beacon uplighter - it is wonderful, and again Dan was superb to deal with. Our latest purchase is a Jodrell grandfather Nixie Tube clock. It is mesmerising and makes a great “statement piece”.
All Dan’s pieces are great talking points with our friends. We expect to carry on collecting more pieces in future. For what they are they are very sensibly priced.
We commissioned Dan to produce a donations box for our local Malvern Theatres. It is called Tree Penny Falls, and it collects serious money and the Theatres (and us) are totally wowed by the design. He is now working on a cashless terminal. His amazing CAD modelling package is showing some intriguing prototypes.
We still love every piece, and the only problem we encountered (bulbs blowing in the Beacon) got an immediate visit from Dan who sorted it out - great service.
