Awarded Best Selected Maker by craft&design magazine at GNCCF 2016
Very honoured to have been picked by the craft&design magazine panel to receive their Showcase Award: Best Selected Maker at Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair 2016. It came as a complete surprise given the 160 other highly talented top quality designer/makers also showing their work at the show. This is perfect timing as the award comes with a write-up in craft&design magazine next year. Watch this space!
Another successful show in Cheltenham at the Celebration of Craft & Design
Wonderful to be surrounded by so much beautifully made top-end furniture and objects at this class show. Always learn so much from the other exhibitors and enjoy talking to the visitors who all have a passion for high quality handmade items.
Great atmosphere, great crowd at Clerkenwell Design Week, London May 2016
We were down in the underground world of the House of Detention as part of their Platform showcase. Great atmospheric venue and a large enthusiastic design-savy crowd. Three intensely rewarding days.
Another successful few days exhibiting at Top Drawer 2016, Olympia
I took a stand in the CRAFT London section of Top Drawer in January and spent three enjoyable days talking to visitors and other designer makers. Made some great contacts and got lots to follow up now.
Now showing work at Imagine Gallery, Suffolk
Delighted to now have work showing in the beautiful and entrancing Imagine Gallery in Long Melford, near Sudbury in Suffolk.
John Foley who runs this gallery has curated a unique and delightful collection of high quality art works over the eleven years since opening, and it is an honour to be part of this.
Busy autumn out & about
Seem to have spent a lot of time on the motorway with a car full of mysterious objects recently. But now back in the workshop after returning from a most enjoyable and successful Handmade in Britain show in Chelsea, and the atmospheric and fun show MADE in Marylebone before that, and the great Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in Manchester before that.. Always so great to watch people respond to our work and get their reactions.
Outstanding Artist at Holmfirth
Really pleased to be presented with the Outstanding Artist Award at the Art Market Holmfirth on 28th June. This was a big surprise especially as there was so much beautiful art work on display there.
Had a great day there, met some fantastic people and got a great reaction to the work. Now planning on having a stand at the next one in November. June 2015

Sunbury Embroidery Gallery exhibition - May 2015
We had a fabulous time exhibiting our biggest collection of work so far at this lovely gallery space in south west London, in May this year. It all went extremely well with a great response from the public, many of whom came back for repeat visits, bringing additional friends and family with them. We were very pleased with the outcome and thoroughly enjoyed having a chance to show there.
A big thank you to Barbara, Robert and the staff at the gallery for all their help and enthusiasm.
Sharing the space with us was the brilliant greenwood artistSpencer Jenkins., whose sculptural chair was a central feature in one of the winning gardens at Chelsea Flower Show last week.

Showing at May Design Series May 2015
We got a lot from this huge interiors show in ExCel in the London Docklands. We were part of the Designer Maker Gallery which meant we were surrounded by talented designer-makers and their beautiful things. Had a great time there, with many brilliant conversations. Very pleased with the reaction the new pieces received and the stand as a whole got a lot of attention. Came away with many great contacts and a few orders into the bargain. Maybe summer isn't going to be quite as relaxed as we'd planned....

Five new products launched in May
BLOTT WORKS launched four brand new products and one reworked product in May. All are handmade in our workshop in the north of England and sold as limited editions. All these pieces (with the exception of Sun Light which is just too big) were on display at our exhibition at Sunbury Embroidery Gallery, London, through May. The smaller pieces were also showcased on our stand at May Design Series at ExCel in London. The response to them all so far has been fantastic.
Go and see our work on show at Bils & Rye Gallery in the beautiful Nunnington in North Yorkshire

Much fun and conversation at our stand at Home 2015 in January
We've just had three thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile days at Olympia in London as part of CRAFT/Top Drawer/Home 2015. Met many new friends and quite a few old ones. Reaction to our work was overwhelming again and a lot of nice things were said.
It was a privilege to have been selected to be part of such a talented group of crafts people and artists, and to have the opportunity to meet so many gallery owners, interior designers and buyers in such a short space of time. And good coffee on cake just across the way!

Great reaction to our work at the Duke of London launch party in December
We recently had the wonderful opportunity to exhibit our work at the Duke of London launch party in the Kew Gardens area of London at the end of December. DoL are an automotive brokerage, specialising in the acquisition and sales of high-end classic and modern cars and motorcycles, and work in partnership with Romance of Rust, the highly respected car restoration firm.
We met some great people and had some most enjoyable conversations It was also great to be so readily welcomed into this world of beautiful cars and discerning buyers - a world we always felt we had a lot in common with.
Many thanks to Merlin, Lance and Andrew for this opportunity and support.

Proud to be showing at Snug Gallery - Purveyors of Contemporary Objects
We are delighted to have been asked to exhibit our work in the sumptuous Snug Gallery in Hebden Bridge. Baby Bustard #5 has now been delivered and has taken up centre position in the window amongst the beautiful works by Tom Raffield, Samantha Donaldson, Jill Shaddock, Sara Flynn and many other talented artists. We are hoping Crane lamp and Clamshell Alchemist will be making an appearance some time soon.

Showing at May Design Series in London next May
We have decided to show at May Design Series ("The UK's definitive international interiors event") as part of the Designer Maker section which will be located just inside one of the main entrances.
We feel this trade-only show will be a great place for us and give us the opportunity to make contact with a multitude of interior designers and specifiers. It should also be a lot of fun as we will be surrounded by a lot of talented designer-makers showiing their creations and discussing their working practices.
The show will be held at London ExCeL from 17-19 May 2015. More information can be found on the MDS web site.

Invited to exhibit our work at The Sunbury Embroidery Gallery in May 2015
We are proud to announce that we have been invited to show our functional sculpture work in the delightful Sunbury Embroidery Gallery in The Walled Garden, Sunbury-on-Thames in South West London.
Next May is looking like a busy month for us which means we are unlikely to have enough individual pieces to fill the gallery so we have opted to share the space with another artist (to be confirmed) who will be showing their complimentary work alongside ours.
This is especially nice for us as the gallery is just down the road from Hampton Court Palace where Great Aunt Mary BLOTT spent a happy childhood as the daughter of the Chief Clerk of Works there, scampering around the echoing corridors.
The exhibition will run from 11th May until 1st June. All our pieces will be limited-edition and available to purchase from the gallery. More information about the gallery can be found on their web site.

A very successful and enjoyable 100% Design Show
The reaction we received at 100% Design far exceeded anything we expected and has made all the many many hours in the workshop completely worthwhile. We were amazed at the range of people that really understood, loved and respected our designs and the quality of the workmanship and materials; from design and architecture professionals to members of the public across the board, from teenagers to retired folk, men and women, and from contemporary conceptualists to old school machinists.
And what was particularly satisfying was the way our fairly uncompromising industrial pieces made people smile, laugh and go 'ahhh' time and time again.
A very successful and enjoyable first public outing with our hand-engineered family! And we sold several of our brand new LightBEAM lamps which put the cherry firmly on the cake.

Crane Desk Lamp designed, photographed and available to order!
Our new lamp has turned out even better than expected and cuts a striking figure with its circular curves and sharp angled 'beak' shade. It comprises hard-anodised aluminium body, solid aluminium shade, rough-cast concrete base and brass fittings. A celebration of both families of cranes - the industrial machine and the iconic bird.

Time to show the World our clock - February 2014
After two years in design and development, our first product, the small clock (working title "BLOTT ONE"), is now ready for us to show to people and will be the primary focus of our efforts for the next few months.
It has been a lot of work but we're now really pleased with all details and the overall look. It has also been very rewarding experimenting with different finishes as an alternative to the classic polished aluminium.
Orders can be placed via this website with delivery dates available from March 2014 onwards. Please contact us if you would like further information or would like to discuss details.
